Four small invitations. Endless possibilities.
Choose one lesson and one medium. Stay present, welcome original outcomes, and stop when your learner needs a break. Digital companions are optional.
Little Explorers · Color Hello · Birth–2
Time: 5–10 minutes. Materials: two large washable solid-colored cloth squares without loose threads, a clean floor mat, optional adult pencil and paper.
- Position baby comfortably with support; place one large cloth in safe visual range.
- Name its color and pause to notice gaze, gestures, or reaching without demanding a response.
- Offer a second color under continuous adult supervision.
- Describe what you notice. Stop when baby looks away, fusses, or tires.
- Afterward, make two broad adult-drawn color marks to remember the encounter.
Digital companion: When baby is safely supervised elsewhere, an adult creates two colored rectangles and an optional observation note on an adult-only canvas. Export or print a keepsake. Baby does not use or watch a screen.
STEAM question: What did your baby attend to or reach for?
Keep privately: one adult color card and one observation sentence.
Safety: No small parts, dangling strings, untested paints, forced touch, or unsupervised props. Color naming is not a baby assessment.
Creative Sprouts · Color Mix Lab · Ages 3–5
Time: 15–25 minutes. Materials: washable nontoxic red and yellow paint, three large trays, thick brush, large paper, towel.
- Place red and yellow paint on separate trays. Ask what might happen if they meet.
- Invite one mark of each color without showing a perfect model.
- Offer a clean center tray and let the child choose how much to mix.
- Compare the new shade and invite the child to name it.
- Make three freely shaped swatches: the first color, second color, and new color. Transcribe the child’s words.
Digital companion: An adult holds the device, opens a simple canvas, and helps the child direct two large strokes. Use a blend tool if available and save a three-color chart. Stop freely after a few minutes.
STEAM question: What changed when the paints combined?
Keep privately: three swatches and a prediction.
Safety: Check product suitability and sensitivities. Never require child photos or video uploads.
Young Artists · Contour Detective · Ages 6–8
Time: 25–35 minutes. Materials: a clean large leaf, flower, or stable cup, HB pencil, eraser, paper; optional parent-managed tablet and stylus.
- Notice three edge shapes and one interior detail in your object.
- Practice a slow contour in the air, then draw the outside edge on paper.
- Look between the object and paper while adding at least three observed details.
- Choose one line to improve without erasing everything.
- Write or dictate: “I noticed ___, so I changed ___.”
Digital companion: Parent photographs only the object, avoiding identifying information and location metadata. Lock the reference on one layer, draw on a new layer, hide the photo, and review. Export to adult-owned storage.
STEAM question: Which shapes were easier to notice when looking slowly?
Keep privately: first and revised contours with an observation.
Safety: Stable objects, no sharp tools; adult controls accounts and sharing. Begin with offline observation.
Family Art Studio · Family Color Map · All ages
Time: 20–35 minutes. Materials: large paper, crayons or markers, optional large precut shapes.
- Each person names a place they enjoy, without sharing an address.
- Choose a colored shape for that place. Offer two choices or pointing for nonverbal participants.
- Arrange a shared map and consider where connections belong.
- Each participant adds or directs a mark. An adult labels gently.
- Discuss how the different choices help the map tell a story.
Digital companion: Adult opens a shared canvas with large shape tools and separate layers for participants. Family members direct color and placement; adult operates the device for the youngest. Save privately using optional initials or aliases.
STEAM question: How do colors, symbols, and places communicate a route?
Keep privately: the map and a caption about each contribution.
Safety and access: No identifiable family locations. Offer large-handled tools, visual contrast, breaks, and alternate communication.
Reflection for every lesson: “I noticed my child chose ___. Next time I will offer ___.”
Celebrate the process
Certificates of completion
Certificate pathways recognize documented learning through private instructor review—not simply clicking a lesson complete.
- Complete your selected program’s core activities.
- Submit private checkpoint evidence at Weeks 4, 8, and 12 once the approved review process opens.
- Share a final four-piece portfolio and adult attestation. Birth–2 uses three caregiver observations; Family Art Studio uses a shared showcase.
- Receive strengths-based feedback, complete a reasonable revision if requested, and receive the signed certificate after approval.
Certificates include an approved display name, program, pathway, completion date, private certificate ID, and instructor signature. Birth–2 receives a Participation Certificate.
Review submission and certificate issuing are coming soon. No child information is collected on this page.

For educators & homeschool families
Open-ended lesson objectives, adaptable materials, STEAM inquiry, and meaningful reflection support learning at home and in educational settings. Curriculum planning draws on developmentally appropriate practice and the Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting arts processes.

A few gentle answers
Do we need drawing experience?
No. Begin with curiosity and age-appropriate materials. Learners make choices and explore; there is no single correct-looking result.
Are paid programs open now?
Not yet. The four free samples are available now. Full courses, paid clubs, certificate review, live classes, and individual tutoring are coming soon. Proposed prices are planning information and are not checkout offers.
Are clubs included with a course?
No. Academy clubs are optional subscriptions separate from the 12-week foundational courses and certificate assessment. Sacred Sundays is a separate membership.
Does completing a lesson automatically award a certificate?
No. Only the Certificate pathways include instructor-reviewed evidence. Approval is required. Standard pathways cover the same core educational goals without formal review.
Can older learners participate?
Yes. Family Art Studio welcomes all ages with adaptable roles. Individual art lessons and tutoring are planned for learners of all ages; availability will be announced when ready.
